Replies are not instant, but every message is read. Please say which iPhone and iOS version you are on if something crashed or looked wrong, and roughly when it happened.

Managing your subscription

Cartalore Pro and Pro Plus are billed by Apple, so starting, changing and cancelling all happen in your Apple account rather than in the app. Apple requires it that way and we cannot do it for you.

Deleting your account

In the app: Settings → Delete account. It is immediate and it is not reversible. Your profile, your saved stories and your reading progress go with it, along with any story you had shared by link, and those links stop working.

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription, because Apple owns the billing relationship. Cancel it separately, using the steps above.

Reporting a story

Every story is built from established reference sources, and every chapter lists the ones it drew on. Inaccuracies can still slip through, especially on contentious topics where the record itself is disputed. If a story is inaccurate, offensive, or should not be there, use the flag on the chapter itself or Settings → Report a problem, or email us. Reports about factual errors are genuinely useful, and we act on them.

Common questions

A story is taking a long time to generate

Writing a story takes a few minutes, because it is being composed for you at that moment. You can leave the app and come back. If a story has been stuck for more than about ten minutes, tell us and include the topic.

A link someone sent me will not open

Share links only open a story that is still being shared. If the person who sent it deleted their account or stopped sharing, the link stops working. That is deliberate, since it is their story to withdraw.

Can I read offline?

Yes. The last ten stories you opened stay on your phone, pictures included, so you can carry on wherever you are. A story is stored the moment you open it, so open the ones you want with you while you are still online. Browsing the rest of the library needs a connection.
